Im hoping that it will stop them but Im not 100% sure. Just trying different things until I get them to raise a spawn on their own.I dont want to artificially raise the fry if I dont have to. My opinion is that parent faised fry should also be better parents themselves and should be healthier.
Got another spawn about a week ago, after eating several spawns and attempting to hatch eggs artificially to no avail I left this batch of eggs in with the parents. The eggs hatched, although the spawn is pretty small, the parents have about 15 week old fry that they are taking care of and the fry seem to grow pretty quick feeding on the parents. One more hurdle cleared. In about one week I will separate the fry and begin the process of raising them away from the parents.
No fry heater stuck on that batch and cooked them along with 2 leopard frog plecos. Then I lost the male. Just lost that female about a week ago. I have 6 others that I am growing out.
